Pied à Terre: The Genius of Shane Osborn

Rarely do you get a chance to experience such a perfect evening experiencing such wonderous culinary delights From the amuse bouche to the petit fours we were treated to ten fine courses as part of Pied à Terre’s tasting menu. At the helm of Pied à Terre is Shane Osborn, the co-owner and head chef since 1999.

At the end of the night our Maitre De asked us what our favourite dishes were, and I think it was testament to the whole amazing experience when we struggled to pick out our favourites! They were all just so good!

Most notable of these dishes were the creamy foie gras sandwiched crisp poppyseed wafers for our amuse bouche, the tantalising taste of crisp baby capers alongside the delicate flavours of the tuna tartare, scallops seared to perfection alongside lightly poached oyster, and the lovely sweetness and crunch of the sweet potato and balsamic crumb that brought alive the sea bream.

Our guest who prides herself as the connoisseur of lamb dishes all around the world could not hide her excitement at the taste sensation of the Elwy Lamb, matched well with the most amazing caramel flavours of the aubergine sandwich.

By the end of the night all three of us sauntered out of this fine establishment totally in bliss at all the fine dishes we had, and the attentive and helpful wait staff.

Hats off to Shane Osbourn! London needs more inspiring chefs like you!
